After a wait of 15 years and numerous 12’‘es, Ep’s, random compilation tracks and remixes Rude 66 has finally finished a full length album and dare we say it’s his most cohesive work to date? Sadistic Tendencies begins where 2005’s Three Faces of Fear EP ended, with 18 tracks that slide like snails on the edge of straight razors, exploring the dark side of the human condition. Thematically connected, deep, dark and mind bendingly analogue, Sadistic Tendencies is both tense and full of release, sometimes brooding and encroaching at other times exploding into throbbing Synth laden Dance Floor Bombs. Superlatives aside, Sadistic Tendencies works exceptionally well as an album and is one of those rare 70 minute journey’s that can be enjoyed from beginning to end – like a good horror movie that scares the hell out of you, but keeps drawing you in.

The cold and beautiful synths of Galaxy Toobin’ Gang are transmitted through the same feeric wave-spaces as those of Laurie Spiegel, Terry Riley or Tangerine Dream and convey perfectly the sensation of simultaneous wonder and alienation that the members of the Peabody expedition must have felt when flying between the abnormally regular shapes of a monstrous mountain range hidden deep into the heart of a eternal screaming whiteness. Galaxy Toobin’ Gang’s debut album is a truly timeless sounding piece of work created by Elliot Lip and Speculator.

For the opening track Cosmic Force teams up with Keith Tucker (Aux 88) to create a blistering Memory Moog epic in league with classic Model 500 or Cybotron. For the flip Cosmic Force gives us 3 of his trademark uncompromised electro tracks: pure, raw, intense, emotional analogue bangers in the vein of early Electronome and the Hague Electronix. This limited edition 12” is sure to go down in history as one of the classics of it’s genre. Forget about what’s hip for a while and tune in to what is timeless.

Hot Chicago influenced tracks by Legowelt’s buddy Orgue electronique. Orgue has been dropping some amazing tracks last years… So we couldn’t wait to hear his new release! And it turned out to be magic again. Every release seems to be better then the one he did before! 5 cool Mr Fingers influenced tracks with a touch of Nu-groove N.Y. early 90 house flavors. And as cherry on the cake there is a great remix by James Cotton (JTC) which totally sounds like a club smasher… Recommended!

Big basslines with classic house beats and string combined with the soulfull vocals of Nami Shimada (Japanese superstar in the ‘80’s) and cool Vocoder vox. As bonus there are two instrumental versions and another cool Legowelt remix. Legowelt delivers a little more powerfull version of the tracks with his trademark bass lines. A LArry Levan staple back in the days.

This the night when fear and death walk hand in hand! Rude 66 has turned to the path of evil with deep malignant industrial electro. Trademark dirty brown melodies and the vocoded chants of the Chicagoan Angel of Despair make these hypnotic tracks instantly recognizable, and a worthy addition to the Rude 66 legacy. Easily his most consistent EP to date. Dig!
